The following is my own analysis of the major parts of this new health care bill. As you will see, I am not too impressed. And since it may be 20 years before our elected officials try again, this has been a tremendous lost opportunity.
EXPANDED COVERAGE
Under this legislation 95 percent of non-elderly legal residents would have health insurance by 2019. That means it will take 9 years! It took us less than a year in 1942 to completely redirect out manufacturing industries and less than four years to then defeat Nazi German and Japan in WWII. And it will take us 9 years to complete the expansion of health care insurance? Pathetic. Why not by this summer?
